EMT’s refuse to help dying pregnant lady

December 24, 2009

Why won’t the counter viewpoint push my apparent sketch?

Two EMTs in Brooklyn, New York were in a coffee shop on their break, when a pregnant lady collapsed.  Instead of helping the woman they instead suggested that someone call 911 because they were on there break. The Lady and here baby died because the EMT that were called didn’t make it in time to help her.

I feel that these EMT’s that refused to help this lady must be fired and either required to pay the family or sentenced to jail.  Even though they are not obligated to help when they are on a break, they should have because she was in need and any person that has a heart would help if they knew they could.  If I saw someone drowning and I was an Olympic Swimmer, I wouldn’t just stand there I would help of course.  These two EMTs need to look inside their hearts and really wonder if they are even human.

So Unlike PETA To Do a Controversial Sexy Ad… JK

December 14, 2009

PETA is in the news again for doing a controversial sexy ad again, this time they decide to push the controversy to the next level.  In the ad they got Playboy model Joanna Krupa to pose naked with the Holy Cross strategically covering her lady parts, which offended the Christian community.  In the ad, Krupa has angel wings and below her the ad says “Be An Angel for Animals”. Personally I don’t have a problem with the ad but that’s because she is hot and I’m a guy.  The ad has already inspired me to save an animal and become vegan, just joking but it is a very effective ad.  The Christian church is overreacting I feel that the ad is for a good cause and good causes is what being Christian is all about.  I think PETA would have selected to put some clothes on Krupa but Sex sells and that is what Krupa does poses naked, but the ad was done in a beautiful way and is not trashy.  So Christians calm down and worry about more important things like loving thy neighbor or something.

Newsy.com

December 14, 2009

Newsy.com is a online news website that I have recently discovered and I like it a lot.  Newsy’s presents all today’s stories in a video format but that is not what makes it a cool online news website, what makes it cool is that it has a news anchor that tells what the story is about and then show clips of other news station and news websites point of views giving the viewer a better understanding of news media.  Newsy.com shows views from fox news, CNN, TMZ and other news mediums which is cool for me because I don’t have to watch multiple news stations to get idea of the story and helps me figure out the bias of each station, so I know what is the truth about the story.

Lil Wayne, Miley Cyrus, Kanye, and Will Smith are dead!

December 12, 2009

No, these famous artists and actors have not died but rumors continue to circulate around the internet that they have either been murdered or have died and people are believing it.  The latest person to have the honor of dying via internet is hit rapper Lil Wayne, the way he has past is that he had been murdered.  I think this is just a way for a unknown blog to receive some quick views and these never actually reach creditable websites unless they are true.  For the most part do not believe any random blog about anything because the information could be wrong and not the truth.  This is just a way for a blog or website to get noticed, but I’m sure that these actors are not complaining, this is free publicity and they probably get a good laugh out of it too.

Hit T.V. Shows star real High School stars?

December 12, 2009

The hit shows out right now are Glee, Vampire Diaries, Gossip Girl, Friday Night Lights and 90210.  The thing these shows have in common are that the characters are high school students.  The age of high schools range from 14 to 18 and the characters on these shows are definitely not in that age range.  I wonder why producers and directors cast these normally 25 to 31 year old’s into roles that are for 17 year old’s. The thing is that it kind of takes away from the realness of the show because these actors do not look like the students at your normal high schools.  So, I thought what is the reason for this casting strategy and the reason was that any actor under the age of 18 years has work hour limits and have to have a tutor, which can put delays on shooting the show especially if the show’s main character is under 18.  The second reason is because fans that don’t fit into the high school demographic but are fans of the show will not feel so weirded out that they may have a crush on AnnaLynne McCord a high school student on the hit show 90210 but a 22 year old woman in real life or if a woman has a crush on the 17 year old Finn character of Glee who is played by 27 year old Cory Monteith won’t feel so wrong for having a crush on him. Another reason is that some of these shows are risque and a 17 year old actor may be less comfortable in a sexual scene compared to a more experienced 27 year old actor who has done sexual scenes before.  I think though that the main reason for casting old actors to play under age high school characters is mostly because of the first point that they are not limited to a certain amount of hours on the set and don’t need any consent from the actors guardians.

24K-Gold PS3!

December 12, 2009

A company has created a 24k gold PS3 that comes with two gold controllers seems like any gamers dream except there is a starting price of $5000 to get your hands on one and that is just starting. The company also has a gold blackberry, platinum Macbooks, and a soon to be released a jewel encrusted PS3. Now I’m sure people don’t actually buy these ridiculous things but I was wrong recently a Gold NES game Cartridge sold for 17,500 dollars.  I like playing video games like call of duty and halo but I don’t even want the special edition xbox that Microsoft had created for the game, so I don’t think I would buy any of these gold gamer products even if I had the money.  I think this is for someone that is easily drawn to games and has money unfortunately I think this is a waste of money for anyone and is game companies taking advantage of people.

Tiger Woods Ads are disappearing!

December 10, 2009

Tiger Woods was an advertising dream for any marketer/advertiser.  At first, when the public heard about Tiger Woods and his affairs with multiple women, the public felt that they would still buy product endorsed by Tiger Woods, this information was taken from polls that I have seen on television. The thing is that I noticed that Woods ads have been disappearing from television since the story broke November 28th.  Many people felt that at the time the one affair that was known about would make Woods more related to the everyman in the way that Tiger is not a perfect person in terms in talent and personality.  Instead more and more affairs started to pop up and now tiger seems almost one notch below evil in terms of his feeling for his wife and marriage.  I read a story on yahoo.com that has actual statistics of Woods lack of airtime for the ads he is in. According to Nielsen officials that the last Tiger Woods ad to appear on prime time T.V. was November 29th which is a day after the Woods story broke. I from personal experience can one up the article on yahoo and say that companies that have used Tiger Woods for their ads have gone even further and removed him from billboards. Across from my work their was a Tag Heuer Watch Ad that had Tiger Woods in an Intellectual pose with the watch on his hand but know I have noticed it has been replaced by another Tag Heuer Watch ad but instead of Tiger Woods it was a woman.  I thought this was the ultimate blow because I feel that changing a billboard is going out of the way to make sure that Woods is gone from the advertising world.  I think eventually though that Tiger will get back on the golf course and win some tournaments to take away from the negative attention he is currently receiving and then will be back on billboards and T.V.s everywhere.

The new and improved Dora the Explorer

December 8, 2009

Nickelodeon and Mattle have decide to give Dora the Explorer a makeover.  Although pictures of the new Dora have not been released, a silhouette was released.  The silhouette reveals more of a barbie look from my description, when I saw a barbie look I’m saying that Dora is no longer the smart, innocent, child explorer, she is now looks like a fashion conscious older girl.  In the silhouette you can see a longer styled hair, a short skirt, and some fashionable shoes according to the article from NY daily news.  Parents are speaking out against the new look, saying that Dora should not grow up and become a fashion conscious tween but a smart girl that wants to learn more and pursue activities relating to her passion for exploring.

I feel the same way the parents do because I think that’s what make Dora loved by kids is the fact that she is different from other characters on T.V. or any toy figures.  Girls have Barbie and those Bratz dolls that they can buy if they want to play with toys that are fashion conscious, and making Dora fit into this category will take away from the educational and innocence message of Dora.

Aren’t We Enjoying All This Death A Little Too Much?

December 5, 2009

I agree with the article concerning America’s fascination with celebrity deaths.  I think that for the most part everyone is afraid of death and that the deaths of these larger than life characters provide comfort to Americans.  The one thing that I’m scared of is that once I die it will be like I didn’t exist but in reality we live on through others that we have touched in a positive way.  The celebrities that created a media frenzy with their deaths were controversial people that could easily been remembered for all the bad they had caused but were not because death is in a way becomes a celebration of  a person’s life accomplishments.  I think once people see that these people that have done wrong, are celebrated for their good they become reminded that this will happen to them but in a smaller scale among their family and friends.  The article mentions that other celebrities that had died and had contributed in more of a positive and less controversial way did not create the same buzz such as Micheal Jackson.  I feel that the reason for this is because we did not watch these people’s lives through good and bad, like one does in their own life.

Amanda Knox Found Guilty by Italian Court Sentenced 26 Yrs

December 5, 2009

Amanda Knox a college student from the state of Washington was found guilty today of murdering her roommate 21 year old Meredith Kercher, a college student from England.  Kercher was found dead in Knox and Kercher’s house they were living at together, Kercher’s throat had been slit.  A knife was found at Knox’s boyfriends house, that had Knox’s DNA on the handle and Kercher’s DNA on the sharp part of the knife.  Knox has been sentenced to 26 years in prison in an Italian prison, Knox’s boyfriend was sentence to 25 years in prison.

I had never heard of this case since its occurrence in 2007, it was not until today did I found out about it coincidentally at the time Knox was finding out her fate.  I don’t know the reason why I had not heard about the Knox case, whether I was not keeping up with current events or that this case was not in the media yet.  The thing is why is this in the media? I feel that it is in the media is because Americans only care about Americans.  I think that Knox’s being American in a foreign country being convicted of murder captured the media and public’s attention. The thing that caught my eye about this case was Amanda Knox and the image she has which is to me is a look of an innocent college student that occupies her life everything school, this image brought disbelief that she could do such a horrible act.  I think Knox’s parents have this same image of their daughter, as does the rest of the world making this horrific act even more interesting.
